just watch

over doing it

•November 16, 2007 • 2 Comments

I have a mentality to overdo things sometimes.  It can be good or bad for example at work we always have left over tea and for a long time I would take home a large cup of it after every close.  The thing about the green tea we make is that its double strength and one should add water to it to dilute it.  I however always took it when it was strong cause green tea is healthy and you got to take it the manly way right…..……….wrong after about a week of this green tea purification my insides felt like some sprayed WD40 all over them.  Basically my insides were moving more than regular, really fast.   So why do we overdo it cause I don’t why I push myself so hard.  Even now I have goals to complete a marathon and I plan to do it.   Am I crazy or do I just sense this urgency to be someone who says I am an accomplished person.

chuck norris

So I had a dream last night and actually remembered it, but it was different and I didn’t event think about it being funny till Bailey laughed when I told her.

I’m in this old air plane that looks like an old WWII bomber plane and I can’t get it up in the air. So, me and another guy had been working on the motor and got them  only  started.  Even though the plane was  working, its was obvious this bird was not getting off the ground. So I suggested we pull in another engine to get us going- none other than the famous karate, fist throwing, Texas ranger  CHUCK NORRIS himself. (now I’m not positive but I think he had his shirt off.)

Ok. So, the plane is roaring. Chuck is waiting and ready, and the whole time there is this urgent need to get  going. Chuck grabs a rope tied to the font of the plane and begins to pull us. I’m not sure who the other guy in the plane is but he’s in the back trying to get us airborne, throwing out extra weight because we need to get in the air and fast (I have no idea why but I’m trying to get us going).  At the end of this dirt red runway, Chuck gives it his all and we get up and begin the journey.

To where? I don’t know.

Will we make it? Who knows.

Is this possible? Lord, I hope so.

cat pooped on me

•October 4, 2007 • 3 Comments

Okay so I was going to talk about how my cat pooped on me while i was sleeping but i will instead build up the suspense and talk about it later.  Apart from pooping felines I learned something about who I am and the lives we impact daily.   I found that the people at my work are more than just meaningless relationships that I build up, from clock in to clock out.  They are instead becoming my adopted family, and I don’t want to be someone involved in there life at work I want to be there for them in all situations. I care about the person who they truly are, and from a ministry perspective I think we sometimes forget how to have compassion for people.  I know for myself at times I can treat people as a number or another notch in my belt.(time for compassion)    Sorry if you felt miss-lead by the title tune in next time and I will share the experience with you thanks.

During my 4 am shift at Starbucks one of my partners was working driv-thru and someone pulled up to the window to pick up their coffee. At the time i was making drinks and looked over as a Starbucks partner hands the lady her change. As you may know its encouraged to carry on conversations with the customers and this partner is especially good at being enthusiastic and friendly. I over hear her friendliness and the line “that’s cool i need to get me one of those.” As the window closes and the customer drives off the Starbucks partner looks at everyone else wide eyed and flushed and tells us she just told that lady that her wig was cool and that she should get one herself. Moral of the story wigs are awesome go get you one…..

…….Really to be honest I love my job and the people there are great I fell blessed to have this opportunity and experience. Cause I wasn’t sure that I would find a job I could actually be happy doing but Jesus took care of me.

Lessons from a four year old # 47

Probably the strangest question or at least top ten of strangest questions was asked the other day of me.  “Will you put powder on my bottom for me it itches and my mommy isn’t here to do it for me?”.  This question was asked of me Friday the 7th by a four year old whose name we shall leave anonymous for their protection and in other words shielding him from humiliation.  I do as told and proceeded to help the little one with powdering of the bottom.  He drops his pants  and falls down in a prone position ready to receive the powder so I begin to……..i promise this story will go somewhere and will have a moral at the end……powder away and he still insist that his buttock itches.   Stressed and embarrassed I tell him to spread his checks (to get the powder everywhere i wasn’t about to rub his bottom) oddly enough he grabs his face and begins to pull his checks apart.  I just laughed at this point i really didn’t know how to handle this situation very well.  However I leave you with a thought  did you realize how the young boy came up to me and asked for help even about such a private issue.  What about us do we share troubles, itchy issues, with one another  even the more private shameful issues that we feel are embarrassing or would be devastating if we told anyone.  What will hurt you the most is keeping it to yourself reach out grab a Christian brother or sister do something about.  God wants us to share are difficulties and struggles with one another so as to over come the problems in our life.

Crusty Eyeballs

I usually take a shower every night before I go to bed, and if you have worn contacts before in the shower then you know that your contacts get plastered to your eyeballs and don’t want to come off. Something to do with the steam and heat makes your contacts glue to your eyeballs I dunno. Now the order goes take a shower, contacts become glued, then the struggle to get them out, then go to bed. The process of getting out the contacts is very uncomfortable and discomforting as you poke and pinch the eye till the contact plops out. Then it hit me why don’t I take out my contacts before I shower. This makes since, and applies to our daily devotionals also I found that making it the first priority makes since compared to putting it off till later. Cause waiting till later makes God fit your schedule and the time you spend with him is kind of “crusty” and then it becomes a chore and almost meaningless.
